Exhaust Fab
I finally wrapped up the exhaust. I probably have 12 hours in this portion of the project, all in 1 hour increments. That being said, I’ve built a few different exhausts over the years for this car so there weren’t any surprises. I was hoping to leave the axle back section un-changed but things didn’t quite line up so I needed to re-make or modify everything from the LS swap. It’s a full 3in system with a Magnaflow cat and three straight through mufflers. The LS swap only had the large Megan Racing rear muffler and the smaller mystery 3in straight through. It was fairly tame so I’m hoping this exhaust is even more mild.
LS6 exhaust, circa 2022?
The assortment of polished and non-polished parts led me to brush everything after fabrication. This also helped hide my un-even welds. I’ve found this technique will leave the entire exhaust with an “OEM” look after a few heat cycles which I really dig. This system tucks a little higher than the LS exhaust but will look the same from the rear of the car. Anyway, pictures of the new pipes and dirty car are below
